Why the Linden
Tree?
The Full Story
The Linden comes from the Old English, indicating flexibility and peacefulness. The Linden shares a root with primary owner, Lindsay Kinney's first name.
Historically, the Linden tree was placed in community centers throughout the Middle Ages. It's purpose was found in providing a place where residents gathered to seek social justice. It was believed that telling a lie was not possible beneath its branches.
Within relationships, twisted and entwined linden branches adorned doorposts to symbolize intimacy. The braided branches emphasized relational strength.
Above all, the Linden tree stands for peace and healing. Its heart-shaped leaves and rich history speak to a compassion-informed relationally-focused therapy that hopes to move clients from disconnection to understanding.
